Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Lunaa ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service.

2. Description of Service

Lunaa is a web-based tool that extracts transcripts from YouTube videos. The Service allows users to download transcripts in multiple formats (TXT, SRT, JSON) and provides AI-powered features for summarization and translation on paid plans.

The Service only works with YouTube videos that have captions enabled. We cannot extract transcripts from videos without captions.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.

4. Subscription Plans & Billing

Lunaa offers the following plans:

  • Free Plan: 50 transcripts per month with basic features. No payment required.
  • Pro Plan ($8/month): 1,000 transcripts, 100 AI customizations, and 1,000 API requests per month.
  • Pro+ Plan ($12/month): 5,000 transcripts, 500 AI customizations, 5,000 API requests per month, plus batch processing features.
  • Lifetime Plan ($49 one-time): All Pro+ features with the same monthly limits, paid once with no recurring charges. Access is granted for the lifetime of the Service.

All payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all billing, payment processing, and sales tax/VAT collection. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Service.

Recurring Subscriptions: Pro and Pro+ subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You will be charged the then-current rate at renewal. Paddle will send you a reminder email before each renewal.

Lifetime Plan: The Lifetime plan is a one-time purchase with no recurring charges. "Lifetime" refers to the lifetime of the Service, not the lifetime of the purchaser. If Lunaa discontinues the Service entirely, lifetime access ends. Monthly usage limits still apply to Lifetime plans.

5. Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellation (Pro/Pro+ Plans): You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until then.

Refunds for Recurring Plans: We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new Pro and Pro+ subscriptions. If you are not satisfied with the Service within 14 days of your initial purchase, contact us at hello@lunaa.xyz for a full refund. Refunds after 14 days are provided at our discretion. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods or unused portions of a subscription after the 14-day period.

Refunds for Lifetime Plan: The Lifetime plan includes a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. After 14 days, the Lifetime plan is non-refundable. This is a one-time purchase and cannot be cancelled or converted to a recurring plan.

All refund requests are processed through Paddle.

6. Usage Limits & Fair Use

Each plan includes specific usage limits (transcript downloads, API calls). These limits reset monthly. Exceeding limits may result in temporary restriction of service until the next billing cycle. We reserve the right to modify usage limits with 30 days notice.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Infringe upon intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or access controls
  • Use automated systems to abuse the Service beyond normal API usage
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service infrastructure

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Lunaa and protected by intellectual property laws. Transcripts you download are derived from YouTube content and remain subject to the original content creator's rights and YouTube's Terms of Service.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including YouTube, Paddle (payments), and Clerk (authentication). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party service availability or changes.

10. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service interruptions.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lunaa shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times. Transcript accuracy depends on YouTube's caption data.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Lunaa operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
